Movie Review
Galipata is one film that was most expected in the Kannada film industry in recent times. The film was the product of the combination of director Yogaraj Bhatt and Golden Star Ganesh who had earlier delivered a blockbuster like Mungaru Male. And with raising expectations about the film, it was certainly a challenging and difficult task for the director to present a film that is strikingly different from the original, but yet entertain the audience. Bhatt has won the new battle with his craftsmanship in writing and narrating. One heartening note is that he has been able to get the best from his team. And the film meets all the expectations it rose in good measure, though there are some jarring notes in the film, which could have been avoided.

Yograj Bhatt has packaged the film with his superb craftsmanship and writing ability. He comes out best in his dialogues and also in the way he handles the narration of the film. He displays his clear and unambiguous technique of telling the story on celluloid and it shows his deep understanding of cinema.

Galipata revolves around three young people of naive and confused behavior who are unsure of what they need in their life. And they move out to a village in search of some mental peace and tranquility. They encounter different experiences in the village and meet lively characters with different outlook. And the authentic and aesthetic presentation of the film is certain to appeal the youngsters who look for some freshness and new techniques in filmmaking.

Galipata is strikingly original in its presentation being shot in stunningly looking interior and outdoor locations. Bhat takes care in selecting the finest craftsman for the technical departments and is also well supported by brilliant artists. And he shows superb talent in his dialogues, which is certainly the highlight of the film.

Golden Star Ganesh is a laugh riot in the film with his dialogues. He rocks emotionally too. And it is one performance where he shines brilliantly in almost every scene. Diganth is at his spontaneous best in the film. Rajesh Krishna is delightful in his role. Anant Nag once again delivers a commanding performance and is adorable when he goes on for the hunting sequences. Daisy Bopanna takes out a role that she has not done before and emerges a clear winner with superb handling of her role. Newcomer Bhavana Rao surprises with her lively performance. And Neetu comes out with ease in her gritty role. All the others have given competent performances in the film.

Technically the film is brilliant and the film can stand out proudly with the best films made in the country. Rathnavelu is outstanding in his camera work. Aesthetic camera angles and pleasing visuals of Rathnavelu is certainly a treat to watch. And Harikrishna comes out a winner with his music compositions. Minchaagi Neenu Baralu stands out.

Gaalipata is certainly one of the better Kannada films to be released recently. The youngsters and the peppy crowd will like the film very much. Yogaraj Bhat proves his mettle once again. And for Ganesh's fans it is one more addition to their memorable, priced films.

Sangama Kannada Movie

Sangama Kannada Movie

Cast: Ganesh, Vedhika, Rangayana Raghu, Komalkumar, Dharma, Yashas, B.Jaya, Thulasi Shivamani

Direction: Ravi Verma

Sangama Movie Review
One of the strongest media of entertainment cinema is also a very responsible medium. Understanding this factor SV Productions in yet another lavish and well thought out film gives a message in their family entertainer that 'Belief is more important than Love'. This is when the two neighbors' are living in the society focuses 'Sangama'. The responsibility shown and affection rendered here are the redeeming features of the film. This is a socially relevant film too. The feel good factor of the film is doing deeds by the protagonist. Some mellifluous and foot tapping songs, splendid photography lift the quality of the film.

Balu (Ganesh) journey in life is filled with doing well to those whom he meets. He is the darling of Lachchi (Vedhika) family because he is always a decision maker in the family. When a software boy is selected for the marriage of Lachchi it is Balu who goes with Khama (Komalkumar) to know the true colors of the boy. When the duo describe in the family of Lachchi how 'Naalayak' is the boy for Lachchi there is a feel of rejoice. The savior and protector of Lachchi family Balu is a small time real estate operator for his livelihood.

When Lachchi is down with fever it is Balu who takes her early in the morning to perform the ritual on her behalf. This care and affection that is very pure gives a space in the heart of Lachchi for Balu. Lachchi express her interest in him at the interval point but Balu knows where he stands. Firstly he is not well off to give a comfortable living for Lachchi and most important is that the family of Lachchi banking on him. He considers in life that belief should not be dislocated in front of love.

When Balu knows that Lachchi likes him and not the software guy from Germany he becomes very alert but destiny has something else in store. His good friend Khama and family members of Lachchi respect the attitude of Balu and they relieve him of the fear that belief is affected when he marries Lachchi. The software guy ready for marriage returns softly from the scene.

This is the most responsible film from the most popular actor Ganesh. He does not have the speed of dialogues in this film that is his major trump card but he gives his best looking very charming on the screen. How a neighboring girl should be taken care take a note from this film. The costumes selection and choreography are splendid for Ganesh. Vedhika is a heroine to watch. She has the perfect personality and her ability to emote is also superb. Rangayana Raghu deviating from comedy gives a surprise as a very responsible father. Komalkumar fills the comedy department. Maina playing the eunuch in the film is disgusting.

Devisriprasad has given three memorable tunes in his first entry to Kannada. The more use of sounds at places could have been avoided. Yet Dilmange more…..Kodu Kodu varavanu Bagavantha and title track are worth hearing again. Lyricist Kaviraj has given a well thought out wordings in his lyrics.

Shekar Chandru camera has no flaws. His hard work is seen because on two occasions despite of the usage of huge lights at the backdrop he gives a treat to the eyes.

Go with your family and don't forget to take the neighbors. Here is a film that speaks so high of your neighbors.

Bombaat Kannada Movie

Cast: Ganesh, Ramya
Direction: Rajendra Babu
Production: Rockline Venkatesh
Music: Mano Murthy

Bombaat Movie Review

Lover boy Golden star Ganesh with series of hits to his credit turns action hero from this 'Bombaat'. His much loved dialogue is rather harsh in this film but he plays the role with lot of intelligence is what gives pleasant surprise to the audience. Instead of making it a full length action cinema director D.Rajendra Babu has efficiently drawn the screenplay with mother sentiment and responsibility of citizens. How the audience would take up the sudden change in the characterization of Ganesh? We have wait for some days to know the result.

The story of this film appears to have been lifted from various films is a war against muscle and influential on the one side and honest youngster with police support on the opponent side. The result is as expected.

Firstly it is taming of shrew kind of job for Anand (Ganesh). Shalini (Ramya) the foreign returned MBA graduate daughter of police commissioner (played by Avinash) on three occasions sees Anand in public places behaving like a rowdy. She wants him to be behind the bars and seeks her father's help. Anand is put behind the bars only at the behest of Shalini but released soon. The police commissioner knows pretty well that Anand is a good guy. On all the three occasions he has helped the police in nabbing the culprits. So he had to trash criminals in the public place.

With such an introduction the director moves on to the camp of bad guys. Gajendra, Dasa, Adhi – all mischievous people are ruling the state from their power. The politicians and police are puppet in front of them. Adhi of the gruesome trio has fallen flat to police commissioner daughter Shalini and he wants to get married to her. In a rude and shocking style the police commissioner house is invaded by the trio for engagement of Shalini and Adhi. So far so good the turn of events is miserable for Shalini and her father.

The clever boy Anand strikes the mind of police commissioner and Shalini is brought to his house for one month of safe stay. Anand who is powerful in his muscles and brainy too accepts the offer of police commissioner. The trio follows Anand and a truce is worked out. Anand promises to send Shalini after one month and he makes the trio to believe him. In the one month time Anand makes some calculative moves and dislodge the unity in trio. The divide and rule policy he adopts works out because he has the police force behind him.

After uprooting everyone what is it the net result for Anand? He gets his mother wish of 14 years fulfilled. Anand's father a treacherous rowdy has caused worries to the people. This is not liked by Anand's mother. She goes for isolation only to return seeing her son in the law abiding police officer uniform.

Ganesh has been very quick in action scenes and lot of stunts he has done – on air for quite sometime thrill his fans. He is out from regular pattern of his six earlier quality box office films. He is too good in romance with lovely looking Ramya. Except romancing with Ganesh the talented Ramya has nothing much to do. While Vinayaprasad is close in a room to see her son as cop Ramya is also kept in room after she comes to Anand house.

Avinash is apt as Police Commissioner. Rahul Roy, Mukeshi Rish, Gurudutt, Adhi Lokesh add good support.

Music mantrik Mano Murthy gives two lovely tunes for which the lyrics are also well written. Shekar Chandru gives the pleasant treat for the eyes. The slow motion shot where Ganesh goes on the air with soda bottles surrounding him in the action scene is well captured.

A good treat for family audience!
